CAL IT Group first made sure it could take over and maintain GBI’s network. GBI then gave the team larger projects, including moving its on-site servers to a virtual environment. Because of COVID-19, moving work to remote access was a major goal. GBI had large servers that needed regular replacement, so CAL IT Group recommended a solution and worked with outside companies to secure the cloud space and software the company needed. After 30 days of testing, GBI decommissioned its local servers.
CAL IT Group continues to support GBI’s distributed workforce, with the goal of giving employees quick access to what they need with the least downtime. The teams meet monthly to discuss IT support from a high-level strategic perspective, and CAL IT Group helps identify the company’s technology challenges and proposes solutions.
GBI works with a core group of three to four CAL IT Group team members, supported by others on CAL IT Group’s side. The teams hold weekly progress meetings and communicate by phone, email, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, RingCentral, and occasional in-person meetings.
